formbase uses a Notion-style document editor instead of one-question-at-a-time cards, ships AI form generation on every plan (Typeform gates AI features across multiple tiers), and offers multilingual question content from Free. formbase Pro at $29.90/month bundles custom domains, branding removal, and advanced analytics — features Typeform splits across Plus ($59/mo), Business ($99/mo), and Enterprise tiers. Like Tally, formbase uses a document-style editor with conditional logic and Stripe payments, and adds in-app AI chat, abandoned-response recovery, paired light/dark themes, and per-link analytics. Unlike Google Forms, formbase has real conditional logic, custom domains, payments, signatures, white-labeling, and AI on every plan — while remaining free to start.
Yes. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. formbase never shares or sells response data. You can set custom data retention policies and password-protect individual forms.
formbase is a Norwegian company (Formbase AS) governed by Norwegian and EU data protection law. We act as your data processor under a Data Processing Agreement that applies automatically — no signature needed — the moment you collect personal data. You stay the controller and decide what to collect. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit (TLS 1.2+), and international transfers to subprocessors run on Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision. Subprocessors are bound by Article 28 agreements, breaches are reported without undue delay, and you can export or delete responses yourself to handle data subject requests under Articles 15–22.
Read the Data Processing AgreementDescribe your form in plain English — like "SaaS onboarding survey" — and AI builds a structured form instantly. You can test and refine it through chat before publishing, and the AI agent can also edit existing forms, add logic, and generate questions. Under the hood, formbase uses AWS Bedrock models. Under the AWS Service Terms, your data is not used to train any models and is not stored by AWS after the request is processed. Your submissions, respondent data, and analytics never leave formbase — the AI only sees what you explicitly ask it to work with.
Forms — yes. Paste your document text or upload existing PDFs/forms. The AI will automatically structure them into formbase format without losing data. Migration guides are available for Typeform, Tally, Google Forms, Jotform, and others. Response import is not supported — formbase collects new submissions only.
Cancel anytime from your account settings. You keep full Pro access until the end of your current billing period — no immediate cutoff. After that, your account switches to the Free plan. Your data is never deleted.
